Reflections

It seems a long, long time since I last published a blog, with the pandemic throwing up all sorts of challenges. I’ve moved into a shared studio in Aberystwyth which has allowed me to produce work of a larger scale and experiment with different processes, and ways of working.

My work has focused on light both on the sea , the river and land and the interactions between these places, how one effects the other. It reflects my relationship with the place too. I am often moving through the landscape and this movement as well as the change created by the interactions of tide and weather interest me. I want my work to reflect these changes and movements and have been drawn more towards abstraction to express this.

  1. Love these. I would def have the large photo on the wall, just so captures the movement chaos of wild shore-scape. So the big question is when to you add a shop feature to the website? Like 10cc said Art for arts sake……..
How is the pottery going – still throwing?

      1. Yes. Lots over winter. Did a glaze fire on Christmas Day. Still hit and miss with mixing my own glazes but the throwing is getting bigger more delicate and controlled and starting to gain a voice in what I do. Just real mindful time I can get properly lost in. The result is nice but I love the process more.

Have a look at woocommerce plugin on a WordPress site. Happy to chat through if you get stuck.
