The co-operative was set up in 2014 and I’ve been lucky enough to be involved for the last three years. We rent a space in the square in Dolgellau below Ty Siamas, an arts venue. The space is big enough to host sixteen makers and we have two cabinets we rent out. In addition we have a guest maker each month. We share the hosting duties in the shop.
It’s been a steep learning curve for me, sometimes elated when a piece of work sells at others disappointed and disheartened when things don’t shift. One thing I have learned though is that you can’t please all the people all the time and it’s therefore important to remain true to yourself as far as possible. I’ve had the same painting on the same day both praised and criticised by different customers . We all have different tastes.
Below is the link to the gallery Facebook page, why not take a look or pop in to browse, or view my work if near Dolgellau.
